Bone & Joint Week 2026 – Day 4: Safe Steps

As part of Bone & Joint Week 2026, Day 4 was observed with the theme "Safe Steps." The Hubli Dharwad Orthopaedic Society (HDOS) organized a Bone Health Awareness Talk and Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Camp at Anand Ashram Old Age Home, Salakinakoppa, Dharwad.

Dr. Prathamesh Hanchanal delivered a talk on the importance of bone health and tips for fall prevention. Dr. Rohan (PT), Physiotherapist at Unity Super Speciality Hospital, educated the inmates on basic exercises to improve strength and balance.

A BMD assessment was carried out for all participants. Orthopaedic examinations of all inmates were conducted by the consultants, and free medicines were distributed.

The programme was attended by around 25 inmates and the caretakers of the old age home. Dr. Vishwanath Patil and Dr. Sapan D. S. also attended the event.
