The Raichur Orthopaedic Society, under the leadership of Dr. Anirudh Kulkarni, President, and Dr. Harsha Patil, Secretary, conducted Bone & Joint Week 2026 from 2nd to 8th August 2026 through various awareness and interaction programmes.

The programmes focused on creating public awareness about bone health, good posture, causes of limb and spinal deformities in children, and preventive measures for road traffic accidents. Awareness and interactive sessions were conducted at various schools.

As part of the activities, Dr. Harsha Patil participated in an interview at All India Radio, Raichur, on road traffic accidents and preventive measures. Awareness programmes were conducted at Vignan Techno School and Sarvodaya School, benefiting more than 1,000 children. A free consultation programme regarding bone density was also conducted at Suvidha Hospital.

On 8th August 2026, Dr. Venkatesh Nayak was felicitated in recognition of his immense service to the people of Raichur over four decades. On the occasion, he shared valuable advice with young doctors on maintaining a balance between professional work and personal life.

The programme was attended by Dr. Harish Murthy, Secretary, Karnataka Orthopaedic Association, Dr. Kanak Chalapathi, Dr. Naveen Sagamkunti, Dr. Mohan Patil, and more than 20 orthopaedic surgeons from Raichur.
